Luxury lighting is often delicate, heavy and made with fragile materials such as crystal, glass, alabaster, brass and hand-finished metal. That is why shipping is an important part of the buying experience at Meet Lighting. We want customers to understand how their order is protected, which shipping methods we use and why some large fixtures take longer to arrive.
This guide explains our shipping protection option and the logistics partners we work with for domestic and international deliveries.
What Is Shipping Protection?
Shipping protection is an optional service designed to give customers extra peace of mind during transit. When a package is moving through warehouses, airports, ports, trucks and local delivery routes, unexpected issues can happen. A shipment may be delayed, misplaced, damaged in transit or show signs of rough handling when it arrives.
When shipping protection is available at checkout and selected for an order, it can help make the claim process easier if a covered shipping issue occurs. Instead of leaving the customer to handle everything alone, the protection service provides an added layer of support for eligible transit problems.
What Shipping Protection May Help With
Coverage details may vary depending on the protection provider and the order situation, but shipping protection is generally intended to help with transit-related problems such as:
- Lost packages: when tracking stops updating or the carrier cannot locate the shipment.
- Damage during transit: when the packaging or product arrives with clear shipping damage.
- Delivery issues: when a shipment is marked delivered but cannot be located, depending on the claim rules.
If your order arrives damaged, please keep the original packaging, take clear photos of the box and product, and contact us as soon as possible. Photos help us review the issue with the carrier, warehouse and protection provider.
How Meet Lighting Ships Orders
Meet Lighting works with multiple logistics partners because lighting orders can vary widely in size, weight and fragility. A small pendant light and a large custom chandelier should not always ship the same way.
Express Air Shipping for Smaller Items
For many smaller fixtures and standard-size products, we usually use express air shipping through carriers such as UPS, DHL and other trusted logistics partners. Express shipping is often the best option for smaller packages because it is faster, trackable and easier to manage for individual home deliveries.
After production and quality inspection are completed, smaller express shipments usually take about 5 to 10 days in transit, depending on the destination, customs clearance and local carrier delivery conditions.
Ocean Freight for Oversized Fixtures
Some large chandeliers and oversized fixtures are too large or too heavy for standard express shipping. For very large products, especially fixtures with a package size over about 39 inches, ocean freight may be the safer and more practical shipping method.
Ocean freight usually takes longer than express air shipping. For oversized products, the ocean freight transit time is generally about 4 to 6 weeks. This can vary depending on the sailing schedule, port processing, customs clearance, weather, peak-season congestion and final delivery arrangements.
Air Freight for Selected Orders
For some orders, air freight may be used when the size, destination and shipping cost make it a better fit. Air freight can be faster than ocean freight, but it is not always suitable for very large or fragile fixtures. Our team chooses the shipping method based on product size, packing safety and delivery feasibility.
Why Large Lighting Orders Can Take Longer
Many Meet Lighting products are produced or prepared by our partner factories before they ship. For made-to-order, customized or oversized fixtures, the full timeline may include production, quality inspection, careful packing, carrier pickup, international transit, customs clearance and final delivery.
The shipping time shown by a carrier usually starts after the shipment has been picked up, not from the day the order is placed. This is especially important for custom chandeliers and large statement fixtures.
How We Pack Fragile Lighting
Because chandeliers often include glass, crystal, metal arms, shades or decorative parts, packaging matters. Depending on the product, we may use protective foam, reinforced cartons, wooden crates, palletized packing or separated component packaging to reduce the risk of damage during transit.
Large fixtures may be packed in multiple boxes. Please check all boxes when your shipment arrives and compare the package count with your tracking or delivery paperwork.
What Customers Should Do When an Order Arrives
- Inspect the outer packaging before signing when possible.
- Take photos if the box is crushed, wet, torn or visibly damaged.
- Keep all original packaging until the fixture has been checked.
- Open all boxes carefully and confirm that parts are present.
- Contact Meet Lighting quickly if anything appears damaged or missing.
Our Goal: Safer Delivery and Clearer Expectations
Our goal is not only to ship your lighting, but to help it arrive safely and with clear expectations. Smaller products are usually shipped by express carriers such as UPS, DHL and other logistics partners. Oversized fixtures may require ocean freight because it is often safer and more practical for large packages.
If you are ordering a large chandelier, custom fixture or time-sensitive project, we recommend contacting us before placing the order. We can help review the product size, estimated production time, likely shipping method and delivery timeline for your project.
